Raritan Gem

The world of CrossWorlds has numerous planets, but very few have been given any detail in-story.

The Gas Giant

A large, gas giant planet orbiting a sunlike star. It has been seen in the background of space shots, but is so far unimportant except as the location of the CrossWorlds moon.

The CrossWorlds Moon

The main setting, of the story, a moon orbiting the Gas Giant. This moon has been transformed through major effort to become the setting of the CrossWorlds MMOG.

Geography

The moon is mainly covered in water. There is one known continent, the Playground, but other land could exist, particularly given the presence of large oceangoing cruise ships such as the MS Solar.

The exact shape of the Playground has never been seen, as its edge is cut off by the horizon, but the visible section is shaped roughly like a crescent moon. The outer edge is highly mountainous, with a few hidden valleys tucked along the coastline. The shore of the central bay is lined with plains which give way to thick forests further inland. Numerous small islands lie off the coast, particularly around the points of the crescent shape. The overall shape of the continent suggests a massive, ancient crater.

Cities

Rhombus Square is the largest known city, and floats off the coast of the Playground in the large bay. Numerous smaller cities are known to exist on the Playground itself. The named ones are:
