The update announced the option to choose the protagonist's gender, and Manlea was featured as the new protagonist option. Although this was quickly revealed as a joke, the developers announced that they enjoyed the character's design, and Manlea, or a character based on him, may appear in a minor capacity in the finished game.

The main protagonist of CrossCode. A Spheromancer who has lost her memory and is playing CrossWorlds in an attempt to recover it.
