There are four Neutral Throw Combat Arts available to Spheromancers. Due to how the Circuit branches, you can only have one paired set, a first- and second-level art, active at a time.

Ball of Steel

LVL 1 CP 1 SP 1 DMG Ranged Neutral Throw

Fire a powerful projectile that will fly through enemies.

Lea throws a large metal ball that pierces through enemies and destructible objects, dealing high damage. The ball ricochets off walls twice, and can damage enemies again after each ricochet.

Ball of Steel is a useful art, but its effectiveness varies greatly depending on positioning and environment. It is generally the better choice against many enemies at once, especially when strung out in a line from Lea's position. You should consider the walls when aiming Ball of Steel; with good strategy you can consistently double and triple the damage using ricochet. Slam targets up against a wall with Bulk Calibre for an easy bounce, and line them up with a wall on both sides for two bounces. Watch out for accidentally hitting non-aggroed enemies. Ball of Steel helps clear clusters of destructible plants quickly.

Bullet Rain

LVL 1 CP 1 SP 1 DMG Ranged Neutral Throw

Fire a mass of small shots in a narrow angle.

Lea rapidly throws 8 non-charged VRPs towards the mouse cursor. The direction of this art can be changed once cast.

Practically a spray-and-pray attack, Bullet Rain is far simpler to get the most out of compared to Ball of Steel. Against a single target, Ball of Steel has to hit all 3 times to match the damage of Bullet Rain's 8 shots. Due to its spread, Bullet Rain gets less accurate the further away your target. Bullet Rain can be thrown at Elemental Ball Changers to make multiple elemental balls, although Hail Flurry fires more shots all in the same direction that bounce once.

Ball of Boomerang

LVL 2 CP 2 SP 3 DMG Ranged Neutral Throw

Fire a powerful projectile with wide range, flying through enemies and back to you.

Lea throws a huge ball resembling a saw-blade that pierces through enemies and destructible objects, dealing high damage. Once the ball touches a wall, it returns to Lea or a decoy, damaging enemies again.

Thanks to its large area of effect and simpler path, Ball of Boomerang is much more reliable than Ball of Steel against large groups of enemies, although its damage per hit is only around x1.5 that of Ball of Steel. Its huge size allows it to hit plants on the edge of cliffs higher than Lea.

Bullet Inferno

LVL 2 CP 2 SP 3 DMG Ranged Neutral Throw

Fire an even larger mass of homing shots at your target.

Lea rapidly throws ~17 non-charged VRPs towards the mouse cursor. The direction of this art can be changed once cast. If there are enemies close to where the balls are being thrown, they will home to the closest enemy. If there are no enemies in that direction, the balls will fire off in scattered directions.

Thanks to its homing capability, Bullet Inferno is much more reliable than Bullet Rain against a faraway single target, although its total damage is only around x2.4 that of Bullet Rain.

Apollo uses this combat art during his second duel against Lea.
